In the middle of the South Styrian wine landscape, this special place between Gamlitz and Kitzeck offers relaxation and recreation.
Surrounded by vineyards in a quiet, beautiful landscape, you sit like an eagle above the clouds. The view wanders from the mystical panorama of the Saggau and Sulm valleys up to the Koralpe, even as far as Carinthia and Slovenia.
The former winegrower's house belonged to the Schmiedhansl farm in Gündorf. Family-owned for many years, the Schmiedhansltdaughter and her husband have lovingly converted it into a very special domicile. The house is unpretentious on arrival. Painted in ivory-colored lime paint with green shutters, the small traditional winegrower's house welcomes the arriving guests who immediately feel welcome. The thick walls protectively spread out the arms. The spacious bathroom is equipped with a double sink, bathtub and a spacious shower. As in the living room, the owners choose natural stone on the walls and floors, impressive in structure and texture and timelessly beautiful. Here you will find the two cozy bedrooms, one facing the morning sun, the other south-west facing, each with a double bed.
The gallery room (23 m2) already offers the first impressive panoramic view to the south. Equipped with a sofa bed, this room can be used in many ways - quiet reading area - TV room - playroom for children - sleeping space for two more people.
A historic spiral staircase leads to the light-flooded living room (45 m2) in the former press house. A spacious room to live, to accommodate friends or simply to relax and let your gaze wander. Old walls have been lovingly restored and left stone-view, an exceptionally high ceiling height and large glass openings make the interior feel like the outside. You sit like an eagle in its nest.
The kitchen (20 m2) in the former wine cellar makes dream dreams come true. Let yourself be surprised!
The south-facing terrace (24 m2) is often bathed in soft light in the morning, while the fog is still in the valley. In summer, four different vines not only provide culinary enjoyment directly from hand to mouth, but also cool shadows.
In the afternoon, the best place in the house is probably the west-facing, covered lounge, a daily open-air cinema, because no sunset is like the other. A special experience every day.
The 2 hectare garden not only invites you to linger, but also to watch the animals. In some early morning hours you can see deer on the meadow near the forest. The terrace and the wooden deck in the lower orchard are ideal places for yoga or qigong with the adjacent forest. Here the soul can breathe freely.
