In Sausal in southern Styria Petra and Hannes cultivate 20 hectares of vineyards according to biodynamic guidelines. On multi-layered slate and sand-lime stone floors, firm, straight, mineral wines are created from the Styrian leading varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Morillon, Pinot Gris and Muscat. With the 2019 vintage, all wines will be Demeter certified.
Hannes Harkamp also has a special talent for sparkling wine. This is testified by numerous, consistently high ratings and awards for his sparkling wine using the traditional method of bottle fermentation. Petzi sheep and chickens have been romping around in the vineyards for several years. You can taste more and more clearly in the wines that the vines as well as the people and animals are deeply rooted in Sausal.
Through the cycles of natural, biodynamic agriculture, the wines and sparkling wines develop an even more uncompromising and precise direction and thus express the full potential of their origin.
