Enjoy the warm sunshine over an espresso or a good glass of wine as you sit on the terrace of one of the coffee houses lining Leibnitz's main square, watching the world go by. It's an almost Mediterranean ambience that soon takes effect. Wander from display window to display window, admiring the latest fashion trends, and shop till you drop in the elegant boutiques and fashion houses. Emerging with your new favourite item, there's still plenty of time to visit the vegetable growers selling their freshly harvested wares in the middle of the main square. In addition to a large selection of fashion and jewellery stores, opticians and shoe shops, you will find a number of weekly farmers' markets that form an inimitable part of the cityscape: so not only can you fill your wardrobe with wonderful things, but your fridge too. But you don't always have to make a trip into the city to enjoy a spot of shopping.
Outside of town, often in narrow lanes and dotted up and down hills, you will come across a small farm shop - sometimes when you least expect it. Regional produce, fresh from the farm: thanks to delicious apricot jams, exquisite hams, pumpkin seed oil, pumpkin seeds and of course fine brandies and wines, shopping can be an adventure to relish in South Styria.
