Farmers market

With tradition so important in the region, you will find no shortage of regional markets in the delightful towns and villages of South Styria. These showcase the best products the region has to offer, and you can sample and purchase fresh, regional produce to your heart's content.

A tempting abundance of delicacies promises a very special shopping experience. On the main square in Leibnitz, there is an evening market that takes place every Tuesday; on Friday mornings you've also got the SÜDSTEIERmarkt. Fresh fruit and vegetables, delicious meats and cheeses and of course a wide selection of regional treats are just a small taste of what you can expect from the market. Every Wednesday and Saturday, the farmer's market at the Marenzigelände welcomes visitors with a full range of fresh, regional wares. Culinary enjoyment is high on the menu in Gamlitz as well, when the farmers unpack their products on the market square. An emphasis on regionality is clearly evident in our gastronomic establishments too, with seasonal menus that use regional produce.

Artistic, handcrafted products and rare items are also regularly showcased at markets: you'll be hard pressed not to take one unique item or another back home with you.
