WINE cycling in Leutschach an der Weinstraße - Schlossberg Montikogel look-out and indigenous herbs
Starting from the main square in Leutschach, the trip leads towards the Schlossberg up to the Monitkogel, where a lookout tower offers a wonderful view of the rolling hills. Continuing towards Remschnigg, you cycle past the zebu cattle farm and the Serschenhof Tertinjek, where you can visit an indigenous herb garden with 1000 different natural herbs. On the way back to Leutschach you go through the Grillgraben.
The bike tour "Monitkogel look-out und indingenous herbs" is a loop route and can be done in both directions. Starting from Leutschach, the trail leads to the Krennmühle where you can find out about the production of pumpkin seed oil and flour at the show mill. Continue uphill towards the Monitkogel look-out and from there go directly to the border with Slovenia. There are many direct sellers and alpine farms along the route so that, for example, you can sample many of the award-winning meats at the Tertinjek Serschenhof and the goat cheeses and sheep sausages produced by the Steininger family.
This part of the municipality of Leutschach an der Weinstraße is known for its natural beauty. An indigenous herb path that can be explored on foot and that describes all the healing effects of natural plants has been created.
